The Exploratory Studies pathway at Madison Consolidated High School offers a broader approach to exploring the curriculum. Though wide-ranging, the goal is to provide a foundation of knowledge in business, information technology, hospitality, fine arts, education, early childhood development, and agriculture. This provides students who desire to start and run their own business, a career using their creative talents and skills, or explore a field of interest to further define a career path a safe space to navigate the landscape.
Information Technology
Information Technology Support students are on the frontline of supporting the technology needs of organizations and end-users. Students will learn the skills needed to support a wide range of customers, including how to diagnose computer-related issues and walking customers through resolving those issues. Students will tear down and rebuild computers and work with customer support software. This program is loaded with hands-on labs and students will have opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications.
At the completion of the program students earn:
- Two Certifications (CompTIA A+ Certification, CompTIA Network + Certification)
- Ivy Tech Technical Certificate (TC) in Information Technology Support
- Total of 30 college credit hours

Using this understanding of business basics, interested students can learn and understand how to transform interests in computer science, computer coding, and web design into a career. Students interested in the culinary arts or hospitality careers can take advantage of our growing Cub Culinary Arts program. This pathway also includes our Fine Arts Academy incorporating elements of music, creative dramatics, and art. For those students interested in agriculture, we offer a focus on agribusiness, food and animal science, and leadership opportunities through our award-winning FFA program.
